Night for Others: Starring James Corden and you!
Don’t miss the 4th annual Night for Others, on December 13, with special guest James Corden: actor, comedian, singer, writer, producer, and former host of the Late Late Show.
This top-rated gala is an opportunity to celebrate the Christmas season and make hope a reality for those suffering homelessness in Orange County. Last year, we raised $2.2 million and ranked in Orange County Business Journal’s TOP 5 Gala List for two years in a row.
Let’s top that goal and enjoy a fun-filled evening with friends including entertainment, a delicious meal, and blessing others with giving.
Corden’s Salvation Army background
In his autobiography, May I Have Your Attention, Please (2011), he revealed that he discovered his calling for comedic performances at age four when his local Salvation Army congregation laughed as he misbehaved in church at his younger sister’s christening.
“We were a Salvation Army family, so we would go every Sunday. All of us in uniform.”
“It was my sister Ruth’s christening and we went up on the platform and I was looking out and seeing this congregation of people and all these people were looking at me. So I started doing a little dance and pulling faces and there were a few chuckles. It got to a point when no one was really looking at the christening they were just looking at me. I thought ‘this is great why don’t we do this every week?’”
The actor and writer praised his Christian parents for providing a “stable” and “balanced” home.
