At The Salvation Army Orange County, there are dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those they serve. Today, we want to introduce you to Vanessa Ortega, who has been with us for almost a decade!
Before Vanessa joined The Salvation Army as an employee, she had a personal connection to the organization. She attended the Santa Ana Temple Corps for worship services and community events. This demonstrates her deep-rooted association with The Salvation Army, where she began her journey as a member before taking on a more prominent role.
As a Family Services Case Manager, Vanessa plays a pivotal role in the lives of Orange County's low-income families and individuals. Her work involves providing financial assistance, emotional and spiritual support, and case management. What she loves most about her job is being able to work alongside the families and individuals in empowering, advocating, and helping them become resourceful through their crises.
What keeps Vanessa going in her demanding role? It's the transformation she witnesses in her clients. "Being able to see the clients succeed and become more hopeful in life," she says, "this keeps me going with a faithful thrive in knowing Jesus is transforming lives." Her work is not just a job; it's a mission that aligns with her deep faith.
