Let’s meet Morgan Guzman, ACSW

Feb 24, 2023

This is the first of our Spotlight a Salvation Army Supporter blogs. Periodically we will spotlight an employee, volunteer, or donor who makes a difference in the lives of Orange County clients. And who better to spotlight than Morgan Guzman, ACSW, Salvation Army OC’s Anti-Trafficking Services Manager. Morgan has a Masters in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University.

For the past year and a half, Morgan has been responsible for overseeing the operations of foreign and domestic victims, the two shelters and case managers. She is also busy overseeing community outreach and education to get the word out about trafficking.

More about Morgan

When not working with victims and staff, Morgan enjoys going to the beach. She loves everything about the beach: the sand, the water, the sand, the sound and beauty of the waves. and especially swimming. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and family. And guess what? Her family will expand when her new baby arrives in March. Congratulations to the Guzmans!

When asked about her most memorable experience, she responded that she has had many wonderful experiences with clients, and a special one was the recent family reunification at LAX where she and her crew finally arranged for a male labor trafficking survivor to reunite with his two sons.

She shared his sense of relief and gratefulness that so many people had helped and touched him while working through obstacles for him.  She cherishes the moment she could take a deep breath with him that what he had hoped for had finally happened. She said, “He finally feels complete” and she is honored to be part of this momentous occasion.

She is grateful to hold this position. She told us, “I have a strong passion for anti-trafficking and want to fight for the victims while walking alongside them to guide them to meet their goals. This is what I am meant to do."

God bless you, Morgan, for all you do.
