Help our neighbors affected by fire
As fires blaze in Southern California, The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services has already stepped in to help those in need.
The Salvation Army has partnered with the American Red Cross to provide food service to those affected by these terrible fires. As of September 13, over 1,631 meals have been served at emergency shelters for those forced to evacuate. The Salvation Army has also collaborated with Baby2Baby and delivered diapers to the emergency shelters. By providing beverages, meals, and emotional and spiritual care to both first responders and survivors, The Salvation Army strives to bring hope and healing to those who find themselves in the midst of extremely difficult situations.
The three big fires across Southern California this week have already burned through more than 100,000 acres and are continuing, forcing tens of thousands of evacuations, destroying homes and leaving fire officials scrambling for resources. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency for Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties where the fires are burning.
